Aftercare

Instructions

  • After removing bandage, (overnight with a traditional bandage, 1-5 days if using tattoo film) wash thoroughly with warm water and unscented liquid soap. Be sure to wash off excess ointment and plasma. Pat dry with paper towel.

  • If using tattoo film and it leaks, remove it and begin your aftercare.

  • Wash, dry, and moisturize your new tattoo with a thin layer of unscented white lotion 1-2 times daily for two weeks. Only touch your fresh tattoo with clean hands.

  • Wear loose/breathable clothing. Your tattoo will be red and tender, and may continue to weep plasma and ink for a day or so.

  • When in doubt, let your tattoo get dry. Over moisturizing can trap bacteria under the skin and can result in potential infection.

  • After a few days, your tattoo will start to peel. Do not pick or scratch your tattoo during this time as it may result in pigment loss and prolonged healing.

  • No soaking (swimming, hot tubs, baths) or direct sunlight until your tattoo is fully healed. Tattoos will heal in around 2 weeks.

  • Avoid heavy exercise for at least 48 hours after getting tattooed. Take off your tattoo film before any exercise, sweat build up will breed bacteria.

  • Long term care - moisturize and avoid sun damage. Good skin care is good tattoo care.
